What is the TOEFL test?

TOEFL is the abbreviation of Test of English as a Foreign Language, and has the object to measures your proficiency speaking English as a non native speaker. It is an international standard for knowing your level of English like CAE, TOEIC and IELTS exams. The differences with the TOEFL are that this is more common used for being accepted in international exchanges in universities o for apply to certain scholarships. What types of TOEFL exist?

There are three types of TOEFL, the IBT (Internet Based Tested), PBT(Institutional Tested Program), and ITP(Institutional Testing Program). The most recognized is the TOEFL IBT, but in this page we are going to explain the TOEFL ITP, instead all the tools that we are going to provide you are useful to do the other TOEFL exams. How is the TOEFL ITP divided and how it is scored?

It is divided in three sections Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression, and Reading Comprehension. Between these three section there is total of 140 questions with a total score of 677 points. In general the results are 200/250 corresponds to a basic/intermedium level and 310/677 to a intermedium/advanced level. A good scored for a foreign exchange it is more than 550 points.
